Very nice. Just a little janky, and kinda slow, but good.

Ok, for the actual review. I like this, but could be better. Are there any attacks that are different? its literally one attack for each button. I suggest adding more attacks, especially if its a smash-type game. For smash, a character needs a variety of moves. A player uses those main types to make combos, and win. The selection here is far too little. I suggest doing this. I understand that you WERE taken to the deadline, and I understand you probably didn't have a WHOLE lot of time. But an update in the near future? Not even in the near future, just an update in general. You and your team put LOTS of time into this project, and I salute you for how much time this probably took. To add 30 characters? That's literally 5 away from Brawls' roster! So for he time window, yeah, this would be good. But all I care for is an update. I don't care if it takes a while, because this has the potential to be better than newgrounds rumble. with that little push, this could be one of my favorite games here.

Eh. I liked it, but I found it very hard to actually hit things. I wish you could press a button to shoot, like in most other danmakus. (example: Touhou, shoot, bomb, focus). I understand that its almost a mechanic because the whole point is to win as fast as possible, so you need the upgrade to make your shooting faster, but at least cap the speed at which you can shoot. That way, you can still make your shooting faster. The reason I would like this is because I feel more control if I'm the one actually holding down shoot. I can shoot when I want to, and there' also the bonus of not being killed unfairly because you cant shoot yourself. (obstacle in the way, try to shoot it, but doesn't shoot fast enough because I cant press a button to do it.).

Some of the later research do add things to assist with aiming to help alleviate the issue (the poor aim is intentional), though one idea I didn't implement which was possible is a line instead of/as well as the targeting reticle. Each of the weapons have a set max fire speed, with the more powerful weapons having a lower rate of fire (this was an intentional design so that you couldn't spam shoot to "victory"). I had thought about some upgrades increasing fire speed after you unlocked the weapon as it might help at higher levels.

If I do an update I'll look at additional targeting options and rate of fire upgrades.

It records a single score for each game mode next to current mode, rather than say the top 5 scores you've done. If I decided to do and update I will consider look at implementing a separate scoreboard if it's not too complex.

Nice game! there's a bug though. Sometimes (happens to me after the 4th death or so) The option to retry won't appear.
